In my photographs each image is a message. The series La favorita is a mosaic of symbols that can be connected through an anecdote, a story, or a series of elements that re-create a particular cultural, geographic, and historical identity. A place, a big, old house, separates the subject from the outside world, an island that keeps her away from the great events of the era and highlights her subjectivity, caught among family belongings, books, and music.
