Artist Statement
I approach my work from an impure sensibility that emanates from the cross-contamination of art and science. I am interested in the competition between both ways of working, which I view as complementary, not oppositional. From this hybrid space, I conceive of photography as a resource for investigating the social-anthropological processes that exist in between the categories of thought and image—it is a personal search to go deep into the spaces of memory and forgetting. For me photography is a way to reveal and add layers to the transfer of memory, a kind of cryptic accumulation.
