Artist statement
For me photography is a graphic document of my time, expressed through my very personal way of seeing the world around me. Also, it has an anthropological character, as I try to document ways and lives and customs that may be lost with the development of Cuba. At the same time, photography is a way to feel myself reflected in and sensitive to those who are most vulnerable.
My intent is to document a way of life that could fade as the years pass and the changes that are taking place as society develops. What I wish to accomplish is to capture the nobility, familiarity, and kindness of the Cuban farmer.
